Poteat Residence Hall
Poteat Residence Hall’s namesake, William Louis Poteat, was an 1877 graduate of Wake Forest. President of the University from 1905-1927, he is best known for his defense of the teaching of evolution during a time when the topic was extremely controversial among scholars and theologians. The campus post office and two Greek organizations are in Poteat. In both design and facilities, Poteat is similar to Kitchin Residence Hall.
