This fall, Working Women@Wake delves into research around gender and negotation to help you expand your negotiation comfort zone and build your negotiation skills. The series combines discussion-based learning and experiential application across the fall semester.
This special Women's Center offering is based on the book Ask for It: How Women Can Use the Power of Negotiation to Get What They Really Want. Written by Linda Babcock, the James M. Walton Professor of Economics at Carnegie Mellon University, and writer Sara Laschever, whose work has appeared in the New York Times and the Harvard Business Review, among other publications, Ask for It is the how-to companion that grew out of the team's earlier research project, Women Don't Ask.
The first 15 registrants will receive a free copy of the book, which they may keep if they attend at least four of the weekly practice sessions, Sept. 27-Nov. 2.
