About this Event
Join us for a powerful reading of "Eat the Meat and Spit Out the Bones," a poignant poetry collection that delves into the lived experiences of Black women, their visions for themselves, and community that is grounded in justice and a divine will to live. Through evocative verses, Dr. Julia Jordan-Zachery weaves together stories of colonialism, migration, and resistance while sometimes offering deep vulnerability, illuminating her/their struggles and processes of self-articulation. Let's gather to honor these stories of Black women and how they choose to live despite.
