This workshop will foster a discussion on the importance of pursuing theological education with an awareness of the financial realities that rising faith leaders face and conscious financial choices that faith leaders must make in light of these realities.

Facilitator: Joshua Goocey (Wake Div Alum)
Joshua Goocey earned his M.Div and M.A. in religion and anthropology at Wake Forest University and served as a pastor for fifteen years. In 2017 he completed his Th.D at Duke University, focusing his research in theology, ethics, and economics. His dissertation analyzed the ethics of wealth accumulation and racialization in modern western economies. Now, he runs a wealth management practice and helps clients across the United States build lasting financial legacies for the common good.
