The purpose of the Wakeville Arts Festival is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and creativity on campus, while providing a platform for student artists to showcase their projects and workshop new ideas. By working together, the departments and organizations involved (all the Fine Arts Departments, Office of Sustainability, Women's Center, Interdisciplinary Arts Center, Student Organizations such as Wake Radio, AAP, Wayward Fashion, etc.) will gain a greater appreciation of the arts and how they can be used to enrich the campus culture. Through this collaborative process, they will also gain a better understanding of how different disciplines can influence and inform each other. Additionally, the event will help to build stronger ties between the arts departments and the rest of the campus, increasing awareness and engagement with the arts.
