THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
Traditionally, Wake ‘N Shake is a 12 hour dance marathon that raises funds for the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund. Due to the pandemic, Wake ‘N Shake is pivoting to a primarily virtual event. However, we hope to maintain the tradition of Wake ‘N Shake the best we can, and one of the favorite activities at a traditional Wake ‘N Shake is the “Pie in the Face” event. This year, we are planning to have a socially distanced pie-ing station on the quad on March 25th.
Throughout the day, one member from each team (we anticipate ~100 teams participating) will have the opportunity to participate. Participants will be given a 15 timeslot to arrive. Only registered dancers can participate. A series of at least 5 tables will be set up in the area. Each table will be equipped with a disposable mask, 2-3 paper towels, and a trash can.
When participants arrive they will be directed to a pie-ing station. They will have the opportunity to make their own pie, put on the disposable mask and then pie themselves in the face. After, they will be instructed to clean up and wipe down the area. A tarp will be placed on the ground for cleaner “clean-up”. They will then leave the area.
Following a station's use, a member of the Wake ‘N Shake executive board will then sanitize the area and prepare it for the next person (placing a new disposable mask and paper towels).
