Wake Forest University Music Guest Concert: Kwan Yi, piano

The Wake Forest University Department of Music invites you to a guest concert with pianist Kwan Yi, also featuring pianist Jared Alan Yoakem.

Featuring the music of Joseph Haydn, Frédéric Chopin, Henri Dutilleux, and Franz Schubert. This event is free and all are welcome!

Pianist Kwan Yi has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, appearing as a soloist with multiple orchestras including the North Carolina Symphony. As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with Itzhak Perlman. He has recorded for Hänssler and FHR labels with violinist Itamar Zorman, and currently serves as assistant professor of piano at East Carolina University.

Jared Alan Yoakem holds a BM from Belmont University, under the instruction of Elena Bennett. He now studies for a Master’s in Piano Performance at East Carolina University under Kwan Yi, working as Mr. Yi’s teaching assistant, and maintaining his own part-time piano studio. As a recitalist and collaborative pianist, he has performed with numerous organizations including numerous choral projects that include two national PBS broadcasts at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
