Three to Four Ounces, Wake Forest's student-run literary magazine, is accepting submissions for the Fall 2025 edition. The issue is titled Food for Thought. 

“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well,” writes Virginia Woolf in A Room of One’s Own. 

As Woolf reminds us, food is a necessity for thought; it fuels not only the stomach, but the mind as well. Food has long been intertwined with literary and creative culture, seen in texts like Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and beautiful paintings like da Vinci’s The Last Supper. Yet beyond this, it is found in every staple of human society.

Three to Four Ounces invites you to submit work following your own interpretation of “Food for Thought”.  We cannot wait to see what you bring to the table.  Let’s get cooking.
