 Caitlin Marley on digital humanities approaches to Classical literature. M
 arley will discuss her research on Marcus Tullius Cicero\, in which she ap
 plies distant reading techniques to his corpus to gain a more complete vie
 w of this political figure in ancient Roman history. Marley will discuss t
 he application of DH methods such as a stylometric analysis of Cicero’s 
 entire corpus\, a sentiment analysis of his orations\, and a network analy
 sis of his letters. She will also discuss Digital Cicero\, where she has c
 reated interactive visualizations of the sentiment employed in Cicero’s 
 speeches and Cicero’s networks of correspondents. You can read more abou

 itlin A. Marley is an Adjunct Instructor in World Languages and Cultures a
 t Bowling Green State University. She is interested in Cicero (both his or
 atory and his letters)\, ancient emotions\, text analysis\, and Digital Hu
 manities. In 2018\, she successfully defended her dissertation titled Sent
 iments\, Networks\, Literary Biography: Towards a Mesoanalysis of Cicero
 ’s Corpus and graduated with her PhD. In 2011\, she received a BA in Cla
