Wake Forest senior Eli Bradley was commissioned through the Wake Forest Richter Research Grant Program to develop a new play based on his research into Pilgrim Tales and Personal Identity as he walked the Camino de Santiago from the French Pyrenees to the western coast of Spain. Bradley will describe his process and actors will read sections of this new play about pilgrimage--a perfect contemporary accompaniment to Reynolda House's Frederic Church exhibit.
The Promise of Night recounts a young women's journey across the 500 miles of the Spanish Pilgrimage, el Camino de Santiago, as she wrestles with a major life decision awaiting her upon her return home. Along the way she encounters an array of colorful characters based upon the individuals the playwright met during his time on the pilgrimage.
