The Politics of Herding Cats: When Congressional Leaders Fail
Thursday, March 18, 2021 4pm to 5pm
About this Event
This presentation, followed by a Q&A moderated by Wake Forest's Dr. Will
Walldorf, will provide an in-depth look into Dr. John Lovett's newly
published book The Politics of Herding Cats: When Congressional
Leaders Fail (Michigan University Press, 2021). The book explores
the interaction between Congress, the mass media, and public policy,
focusing on how individual members of Congress can overwhelm
leader priorities using media coverage of issues. Dr. Lovett is a Visiting
Assistant Professor of Politics & International Affairs at Wake Forest
University whose scholarship has focused on the interaction between
political institutions and media from both a general perspective and a
policy perspective.
