The Path to Being Heard & Being Seen

Join us for an artist talk with Emilio Apontesierra-Paretti. Emilio is currently at Wake Forest University School of Divinity as the Artist-in-Residence for the Faith Coordinating Center.

Being heard and seen can look different for each person. In multidisciplinary artist Emilio Apontesierra-Paretti’s self-reflection, he has come to the conclusion that being heard and seen is intertwined with our sense of self-identity. Come meet this multidisciplinary artist from Colombia who brought his love of the arts to South Florida when he moved here seeking political asylum. Discover with him, how art becomes a tool, not only to mobilize the community around health issues and social commentaries, but to get to know and find yourself without having to rely on other people to define you or tell you who you are.

This event is free to the public.

Light refreshments will be served.
