The Enneagram as a Resource for Empathetic Leadership

Cultivating Self-Awareness, Understanding Others, and Facilitating Growth
The Enneagram is a powerful tool to help us understand and recognize the patterns of our personality so that we might become more self-aware, empathetic, and effective leaders. Learning about the nine Enneagram types provides a powerful lens through which to understand the perspectives and motivations of our colleagues, friends, and family. Becoming aware, however, is simply the first step to facilitate change, so we must also engage in type-specific practices that will support ongoing growth and development.

In this 3-part workshop series, we will explore the nine types of the Enneagram personality system, including gifts, challenges, and growth opportunities for each type. By learning the core motivations of ourselves and those with whom we work and live, we become freer to live from choice rather than habit, and we engage those in our lives with greater compassion and understanding.

All sessions - open to WFU faculty, staff, and students - will be held from 12:00-1:00pm via Zoom:

Please note that the series is highly interactive and will involve breakout small group discussion, so participants will have the opportunity to actively engage with others. In order to participate in Parts 2 and 3, participants must either attend Part 1 or view a recording of the first session prior to the later workshops.

Participants are encouraged to read the first part of The Essential Enneagram and take the included test, in order to have some thoughts about their type before attending the series. In general, online Enneagram tests are discouraged due to their statistical unreliability.
