The Department of History's signature event, the prestigious Clonts Lecture, will be delivered by Professor Julie Hardwick, the John E. Green Regents Professor of History at the University of Texas at Austin. 

Hardwick will explore the life of Adelaide Zaire, one of thousands of young, enslaved women and men for whom France was one stop in a trajectory of serial Atlantic coerced dislocations. 

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A and a complimentary reception with light refehsments.
