The Dillon Johnston Writers Reading Series presents a collaborative reading and performance with Steven Dunn and Drew Shamir.

Steven Dunn is a Whiting Award winner who was shortlisted for Granata Magazine's Best of Young American Novelists.  He's the author of three novels, Potted Meat (Tarpaulin Sky 2016), water & power (Tarpaulin Sky, 2018) and Tannery Bay (FC2/University of Alabama Press, 2024).  He teaches in the MFA programs at Regis, Stetson, and Naropa Universities.

Drew Shamir is a hip-hop artist based in Greensboro, NC.  Originally from Jacksonville, NC, he is a writer, rapper, producer/beatmaker, and lecturer, known for his thoughtful approach to music and his dedication to the culture.  Working primarily within the Boom Bap and Traditional styles, Drew Shamir also blends Adult Contemporary elements into his sound, offering a grounded and authentic perspective on life and hip-hop.
