THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
Imagine you've just asked your class a difficult question and a student raises their hand. What is the gender of the student? Research over the past several decades reveals that from preschool to college, men still receive more instruction and teacher attention than women and other gender minority students. In this workshop, Steph Trilling, Director of the Women's Center, will facilitate a conversation about gender stereotypes, share relevant research on classroom participation, and provide concrete strategies for how you can counter the "gender participation gap" and create an equitable learning environment for students of all genders in your classroom.
Co-sponsored by the Women's Center of Wake Forest University.
