The Wake Forest Department of Sociology, in sponsorship with The Department of the Provost, invites you to join our talk with Dr. Katie L. Acosta as she discusses her new book Queer Stepfamilies: The Path to Social and Legal Recognition.
The talk with Dr. Acosta will focus on the strategies that mixed-race and racially minoritized stepfamilies, led by lesbian, bisexual, transgender or queer parents, used to make themselves intelligible as family to others.
The discussion that follows will be facilitated be Dr. Andrea Gomez-Cervates.
