Seven Money Types Workshop Series: Money Types and Fundraising: The Seven Streams of Generosity

Henri Nouwen said that he’d never ask a person for money in a way that was not good for their soul. In this session, we’ll deal with the very practical financial necessities that you’ll likely face as a leader in a non-profit space, and discover the role that understanding money types plays in helping you raise necessary funds in a way that’s not manipulative, but rather life-giving. We’ll explore The Seven Streams of Generosity.

About the Facilitator and Series

Tommy Brown is an ordained minister, writer and speaker. He served in leadership at two churches from 2001-2014, leading congregations into financial wellbeing and a holistic approach to integrating faith and finances. Tommy has a B.A. in Pastoral Ministry and Masters degrees in Divinity and Management. Now, Tommy works alongside an award-winning team of storytellers at Wake Forest University, performing strategic planning and project development for initiatives that fund the university’s $1,000,000,000 capital campaign. He has a heart for seeing churches, students, and people of faith form connections between faith and finances. He is a featured contributor on faith and finances for the My Big Jesus blog, which has a monthly readership base that exceeds 90,000.

This workshop is based on Brown’s upcoming book, The Seven Money Types. True financial well-being involves more than getting out of debt and accumulating wealth. It’s about discovering how you’re wired by God, and how that wiring influences the way you think about, feel toward, and handle money. In The Seven Money Types, Pastor Tommy Brown leads you on a journey of personal discovery as he reveals the seven money types found in Scripture, helps you identify the type that best fits you by means of a user-friendly assessment, and coaches you on understanding, affirming, developing, and enjoying your unique approach to money.
