Hang out after hours at the Museum for music, refreshments, talks, and admission to American Moderns. Programs begin at 6 p.m. March 6 Nature Essentialized: Art, Pottery, and Music In response to modern artists who sought essential truths in nature, composer Kenneth Frazelle and potter Mark Hewitt converse about abstraction, chance operations, and control in their respective art forms. Frazelle is a North Carolina native whose work has been performed by leading orchestras and renowned performers including Yo-Yo Ma and Odetta. Hewitt, ranked among the most highly acclaimed living potters, creates distinctive functional pots blending a variety of North Carolinian traditions.
