THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
Nana Watanobe, Japan Outreach Initiative Coordinator at Wake Forest University, will discuss one of the most traditional and beloved sports in Japan, sumo wrestling. This centuries-old sport is related to nationality issues, and the traditional religion and history of Japan. Although the sport looks very simple, it has rules and a complicated ranking system. Nana will use the latest season’s information to give an introduction to sumo wrestling. Admission is free.
