Lauded as “the dark star of contemporary Irish poetry” in Poetry magazine, Belfast-born poet and critic Alan Gillis has published four poetry collections and currently teaches English at the University of Edinburgh. WFU Press published Scapegoat and Other Poems, which includes his latest volume and selections from previous work, in 2016.
Dublin-born David Wheatley is the author of five poetry collections, most recently The President of Planet Earth (WFU Press, 2017), which was shortlisted for the Irish Times Poetry Now Award. An avid editor and critic, Wheatley also edited the fourth volume of The Wake Forest Series of Irish Poetry. The Guardian has praised Wheatley’s work as “poetry of displacement, uncertainty and sheer possibility; jumping from place to place, idea to idea, the real to the imagined..."
