Objects of Power Opening Reception

Please join us for the opening reception of Objects of Power: The Material Culture of Contested Memory, with remarks by Julian Semilian, UNCSA faculty in the School of Filmmaking. Semilian's electronic paintings are featured in the exhibit alongside MOA objects curated by WFU students.  Light refreshments will be provided.  This event is part of “The Re/Moval Project: Against Forces of Forgetting, Choose the Power of Remembrance!,” a two-year project on the Cherokee Removal and its legacy.  The project is generously funded by a grant from the Mellon Foundation through the Humanities Institute at WFU, the WFU Provost’s Office, and the Kenan Institute at UNCSA. Admission is free.
