THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
Webinar: My Head Hurts!! - How to Make Sense of Your Mental and Emotional Life During The COVID-19 Pandemic
During these unusual and uncertain times, our brains typically default to survival and self-preservation mode. From this orientation, we then create narratives or stories to help us make sense of our experience. What narrative are you creating about these times? And more importantly, how does that narrative influence the information you pay attention to and how you make meaning from it?
The objective of the June 5th webinar is to give you an opportunity to reflect and make sense of your experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. It will also provide an opportunity for you to challenge these narratives to enable you to see things in a new light. By participating in this webinar, you will deepen your understanding of yourself and broaden your view of your current experience. You will also gain a tool or process for navigating future difficult times.
Examine how you are making sense of these current times.
Challenge, broaden, or reassess some of the scripts that are driving your behaviors and influencing your emotions so that you can manage them instead of them managing you.
Learn a process that you can apply to untangle future challenges and ambiguous situations to minimize or avoid self-defeating mental ruts.
Reflection Work (to be done prior to the webinar):
First, identify a specific and challenging time or set back from your past (e.g., loss of a job, significant illness in self or other loved one, important relationship ending, significant economic loss, etc.) and then answer the following questions:
What were your primary thoughts during this time?
What were your primary feelings?
What did you fear was going to be a longer-term outcome or consequence?
Registration is required for this event.
