The Environment and Sustainability Studies Program and the Sabin Center host renowned climate communicator Dr. Katharine Hayhoe, Chief Scientist at The Nature Conservancy. Her address, "Mitigate, Adapt, or Suffer: Connecting Global Change to Local Impacts and Solutions" is inspired by physicist and former U.S. Science Advisor John Holdren, who once said: “We basically have three choices: mitigation, adaptation, and suffering.” Dr. Hayhoe will translate the implications of those choices from a global scale to what it means for communities in our region, from drought to energy demand.

Reception at 6 p.m.; Keynote remarks in the Kucynch Auditorium at 7 p.m.
