During the months of September and October a group of 8 to 12 parents and other interested Wake Forest people will meet on campus at noon on alternate Wednesdays to explore four or five brief and exciting children's books. We will be reading, writing about, and talking about these enchanted texts. I have written two books and a number of articles about these books, but our time together will be interactive: we will be sharing our oral reading skills, brief written responses, insights about the books, and our understanding of how such rich texts amplify the cognitive and aesthetic capacity of young children. Our sessions will begin at 12:00 and will last only an hour.
