THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
This symposium will showcase what journalism is, how it works, and what consumers of journalism typically don't see. A round table discussion will explore the exceptional nuances and modes of practice which either address or themselves prompt questions of uncertainty--anything from environmental journalism to local journalism, to the overlap between journalism and other forms of mediated true-story-telling such as documentary film. Panelists will also discuss recent attacks made against journalists and issues related to free speech and democracy.
