Head of the Hooch Virtual Regatta

THIS IS A PAST EVENT.

Head of the Hooch Virtual Regatta

Rowing Club will be competing in the Virtual Head of the Hooch on November 7th. This event will only be open to Rowing Club members. Ergs (rowing machines) will be spread 12ft apart, the same as during our practices, and the event will be held outside. Only 13 rowers will erg (row) at a time. While not rowing, rowers will stand or sit at least 10ft away from the ergs and each other. Masks will be worn at all times, including while erging.

Rower's phones will be connected to the ergs via Bluetooth, which will report their speed and time to the regatta. During the race, their phones will show a 3D rendering of the Tennessee river. This regatta supports "team boat" style racing, where rower's times will be averaged to create a boat time, and these boats will compete virtually with other teams all over the country.
