THIS IS A PAST EVENT.

Flute Fest Reimagined, 2021

The Department of Music presents the 33rd annual Flute Fest concert in Brendle Recital Hall. The concert will feature flute students under the direction of Professor Kathryn Levy. Repertoire will include music of women composers Eugénie Rocherelle and Florence Price along with compositions of J S Bach, Camille Saint-Saëns and Barry McKimm.

In the tradition of past Flute Fest concerts, all flutists from the larger WFU community are invited to join the other performers to form a mass flute choir, concluding the concert with the popular Londonderry Air (Danny Boy). Flutists who would like to participate in the mass choir should contact Mrs. Levy in advance. (levyka@wfu.edu). Due to WFU covid protocols, we are unable to include off- campus flutists this year, but hope to resume that tradition next year!
