THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
The Festival Week is a weeklong event where School of Divinity faculty and students together promote and practice the prophetic spirit of the Divinity community. The festival will include guest lecture and praxis of prophetic ministry in various art forms such as a protest music concert, arts display and preaching. The Festival week is an innovative part of the academic course, Prophetic Ministry: Social Witness, Protest Arts, and Preaching, being offered to students this fall.
The event of the Festival Week, as an extension to the local community, will welcome art and music contributions from local pastors, lay people, activists, and artists for display and concert.
Divinity students, faculty, and contributors from the faith community can participate in either one or all three areas, (1) protest arts display (e.g., film, painting, photography, posters and placards, digital media, graffiti, cartoons, installation arts, etc.), (2) music concert (songs, drama, spoken word, poetry, dance, pantomime, performance, etc.) and, (3) prophetic preaching.
