DESCRIPTION:Abstract: \n\nHoneywell contributes to several of NASA's human 
 space programs including Orion\, Artemis\, and Mars missions.   Specifical
 ly\, Honeywell  develops navigation tools which are commonly used in inert
 ial measurement units.    For example\,   these tools performed very well 
 during a recent 26-day mission in the Artemis program involving a low eart
 h orbit of an unmanned test space vehicle.    This talk will present an ov
 erview of the inertial measurement units and discuss some of physics\, eng
 ineering\, and analyses needed for further improvements.     Some of the d
 iscussion involves analysis of sensor noise signatures and dynamic calibra
 tions using Kaman filtering.  Next generation sensors may include Gaussian
 -Markov models and estimates of quantum and general relativistic effects.\
 n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nIn addition to the colloquium\, there will be a Career A
 dvising Event on Friday\, April 7 between 11 AM and 12:45 PM in Olin 105 (
 with lunch). Dr. Zeng will discuss and answer questions about employment a
 nd internship opportunities at Honeywell International\n\n \n\nSee Flyer\n
