THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
Facilitator: Betsy Barre, CAT
Whether we teach political science, music, or biology, we aim to create learning environments that facilitate the growth of students with diverse identities, backgrounds, and commitments. Yet recent polarization has made it increasingly difficult to educate across political divides. As the gulf between our students widens, everyday classroom interactions can become sites of significant conflict that, if not addressed, limit students’ learning and development. In this workshop, participants will learn to navigate different kinds of classroom conflict to reduce harm and facilitate meaningful growth.
