THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
Secrest Artist Series: The Carolina Chocolate Drops prove that old-time, fiddle and banjo-based music can be a living, breathing, and ever-evolving sound. Starting with material culled in the Piedmont region of the Carolinas, they seek to freshly interpret this work--not merely recreating it, but highlighting the central role that African Americans played in shaping our nation's popular music from its beginnings more than a century ago.
For our community members and interested arts supporters, we are excited to use this feature a second time for our 2013-2014 season. Tickets for the 2013/14 season are now available! Pricing information is available below under “Community.”
