Carolina Chocolate Drops

Secrest Artist Series: The Carolina Chocolate Drops prove that old-time, fiddle and banjo-based music can be a living, breathing, and ever-evolving sound. Starting with material culled in the Piedmont region of the Carolinas, they seek to freshly interpret this work--not merely recreating it, but highlighting the central role that African Americans played in shaping our nation's popular music from its beginnings more than a century ago.

Fantastic! They played a variety of music and wonderful songs. I wanted to buy a CD but could not get near the table. Judging from the audience, everyone enjoyed it, I know my husband and I surely did.
