VeriCite is a cloud based service that helps to verify the originality of student work. It also can help to facilitate proper citation techniques and paraphrasing skills when used as a tool to enhance instruction through student reflection. The LMS Team has received many requests from faculty for this type of service. VeriCite is an option within the Assignments tool and must be used through Sakai. VeriCite will generate an "originality report" for both the instructor and the student. Prerequisites: Faculty attendees should be familiar with Sakai or have recently attended the Introduction to Sakai workshop (register for the Sakai workshop here). Faculty will have an opportunity to add Vericite to an existing Fall 2016 course site. Please have your Fall 2016 course site created in Sakai with the Assignments tool added to your course site.
Time will be allotted at the end of the workshop for those who wish to set up their first Vericite Assignment. Please bring a laptop if you wish to participate.
About: This workshop is sponsored by The Office of the Provost. An extended pilot of Vericite has been approved for the 2016-2017 academic year.
