THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
A group of eight to ten students will read and discuss this book at the rate of one chapter per week. The faculty fellows will provide electronic or paper copies of the book for each student. A convenient day and time will be found; weekly meetings will begin the week of September 16. This is an ethnography in which a college professor on leave returns to her own campus as a beginning student and writes about the lives of first year students from that insider/anthropologist perspective. This book gives an appreciation of one’s first year of college as a process of socialization and adaptation.
