Birds in American Art at Reynolda

Tuesday, April 25 at 12:30pm

Reynolda Gardens, Education Wing 100 Reynolda Village, Winston-Salem, NC 27106

Visitors to Reynolda Gardens and the Reynolda grounds often enjoy bird-watching, as many different species of birds make their nests here. In this talk, Reynolda House Museum of American Art curator, Allison Slaby, will survey works of art in the Museum’s collection, which feature birds. Ms. Slaby will examine works by John James Audubon, Frederic Edwin Church, Martin Johnson Heade, and Dorothy Doughty, exploring the many reasons that artists choose to include birds in their work.
