THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
Facilitated by Dr. Pat Sweeney, Executive Director of the Allegacy Center for Leadership and Character, and Dr. José Villalba, VP of Diversity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Office for Wake Forest University, this compelling and timely webinar will explore the sources that give rise to the development of stereotypes, prejudice, biases, and discrimination against groups of people. We will review how humans perceive each other and the biases that naturally result from this imperfect perception process. Next, we will introduce you to Allport’s Contact Hypothesis as a simple and practical tool to reduce stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination within groups. Finally, we will walk you through leader actions to apply each element of the Contact Hypothesis to set the context to reduce prejudice and discrimination within a team. We close the session with questions and answers.
