Acquavella Distinguished Lecture in Management in the Visual Arts: Dr. Amy Whitaker, "NFTs, The Creative Economy, and the Future of Art"

A pioneering researcher on blockchain in the arts, Dr. Amy Whitaker will discuss how fractional equity in art using blockchain can change the creative economy.   With her impressive interdisciplinary range (she holds an MBA and an MFA as well as a PhD), she has won awards for "trailblazing” research that challenges orthodoxies and has impact.

Amy Whitaker is an associate professor at New York University in the Steinhardt School’s Visual Arts Administration program in the Department of Art and Art Professions. She is the author of four books: Museum Legs (2009), Art Thinking (2016), Economics of Visual Art (2021), and The Story of NFTs (with Nora Burdett Abrams, 2023).
