About Ammons/WordsAwake!

On Friday evening, Sept 14, at 5:30 pm in Byrum Hall, alumnus Robert West will talk about publication of his edition (definitive volumes) of the complete poems of noted WFU alumnus A R Ammons.   After Robert's talk, Emily Herring Wilson will emcee faculty, students, and alumni/ae reading some of their favorite Archie Ammons poems.

On Saturday, Sept 15, at 9 am on the 4th floor of the Benson Center, WordsAwake! celebrates Al Hunt and Ed Wilson and Maria Henson and others, hears from famed WF alumni/ae journalists as well as from alumni/ae poets of the New South, and inducts four more WF alumni/ae into the WF Writers Hall of Fame:  Linda Carter Brinson (Journalism), Betsy Teter (Champion of Writers), Jo DeYoung Thomas (Journalism), and Doug Waller (Journalism, Biography).  

All events, including the Saturday luncheon/induction banquet, are free and open to the greater Wake Forest community.
