The 1L Trial Bar Competition is an early opportunity for 1Ls to gain valuable trial practice experience. Participants receive a short, closed universe case packet (which means no extra research!) from which they deliver a 6-minute opening and 9-minute closing statement advocating for their client. Each participant competes twice over the course of preliminary rounds–once as the Prosecution, once as the Defense. The top sixteen competitors advance to the elimination rounds.
