THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
Following in the footsteps of the great Irish Tenor John McCormack, in a sensational program, “The Five Irish Tenors” fuses Irish wit and boisterous charm, with lyricism, dramatic flair and operatic style to bring a unique Irish tenor concert experience to Winston-Salem’s LJVM Coliseum on March 21, 2017.
Featuring both famously beloved Irish song and opera arias in combinations of tenor solos, duets, trios, quartets, quintets and tutti, the distinctive “Salute to Ireland” program includes, among others, W.B Yeats’s “Down by the Sally Gardens,” Cherubini Bixio’s “Mamma,” “The Rose of Tralee,” “Toora – Loora – Looral,” “She Moves Through the Fair,” “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling,” and the glorious “Danny Boy” performed by Ireland’s mostlegendary tenors.
This concert project is the first tour ever in North America of Ireland’s most popular ensemble, and has been specially recreated from the major cities in Ireland for the United States and Canada.
The Five Irish Tenors are:
David Martin: Lyric Bel Canto Irish Tenor, Aaron Cawley: Spinto Irish Tenor, Ciarán Kelly: Mozart Irish Tenor, George Hutton: Traditional Irish Tenor, Alan Leech: Buffo Irish Tenor, Pianist/Composer/Arranger Feargull Murray, Pianist Danny Forde
