THIS IS A PAST EVENT.
While some disability accommodations approved for students are straightforward, others are more challenging to implement. In this workshop, we will briefly review disability services at WFU including relevant legal statutes. The primary focus will be on moving beyond basic considerations to explore more complex disability-related academic accommodations such as timeliness of requests for accommodations, formal versus informal accommodations, accommodating invisible disabilities and determining whether an accommodation might present a fundamental alteration of course expectations. Resources and best practices in these areas will be discussed.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required for this event.
