As the world becomes smaller and the marketplace larger, John Tamny challenges collected, conventional wisdom, making the money people and the rest of us think.
Described by George Will as a “one-man antidote to economic obfuscation and mystification,” John Tamny is much sought after as a speaker around the world given his tendency to successfully turn conventional economic and market wisdom on its head. Tamny’s goal in his presentations is to show why what is commonly believed is untrue.
John Tamny is the political economy editor at Forbes, editor of RealClearMarkets.com, a senior fellow in economics at the Reason Foundation, and a senior economic advisor to Toreador Research & Trading. His most recent book, Who Needs the Fed?: What Taylor Swift, Uber, and Robots Tell Us About Money, Credit, and Why We Should Abolish America’s Central Bank, was published last fall. His previous book, Popular Economics: What LaBron James, the Rolling Stones, and Downton Abbey Can Teach You About Economics was released in 2015.
